Lorne project

Our Lorne project is a beautifully resolved response to a challenging coastal site, proving that great design can turn constraints into opportunity. This compact three-bedroom retreat has been carefully designed to sit lightly within the landscape, elevated on stumps to work with the steep slope rather than against it. By lifting the home, we were able to create a practical carport beneath while minimising site impact and preserving the natural character of the land.

Beyond its clever site response, the project is also a testament to durability and resilience. Built to BAL–FZ, the highest bushfire rating, the home delivers an exceptional level of protection and peace of mind in a high-risk environment. The result is a warm, functional and highly considered holiday home that balances safety, comfort and simplicity, while embracing the rugged beauty of its coastal setting.
